Web 2.0 Marketing: How to Become an Income Producing Juggernaut Using For FREE - Web 2.0

Before we get started I want you to understand that I have been in the industry of marketing for years now, I have went through all the problems, all the trial and era, and have made all the marketing mistakes you can possibly think of.

However, over the past few months, close to a year now, I've gotten all my videos, articles, & websites placed on the first page to the top of search engines effortlessly. I am able to establish a large & responsive following on all of my web 2.0 platforms; such as face book, twitter, myspace etc.. not to mention I have created products and have generated over $55,000 in 2 short months utilizing simple web 2.0 strategies.

I say all that to say that I know what I am doing when it comes to Web 2.0 Marketing, so I hope you are taking notes.

If you are a newbie to Web 2.0 Marketing, Your most important questions should be:1.How do I get established on the Web 2.0 platforms: myspace, facebook, twitter, video marketing etc..?2.How do I build an online presence?3.How do I make Money utilizing these strategies?

First thing you need to understand is the amount of effort it takes to make this Web 2.0 "thing" work. You can't just jump on a web 2.0 platform like myspace, facebook, twitter, or Youtube and think that you are going to be making money marketing in a matter of days.

It doesn't work like that!

Let's look at P. Diddy for example; he utilized Twitter, a web 2.0 platform, to market himself. He is his own business. He has all the money you can imagine to put up ads, billboards, etc. stating "I AM DIDDY" follow me!

And he used a ton of money to get his name out there. Mind you, he already had a large following to begin with.

More importantly then how much money he spent, is what I learned from him that changed my whole mindset when it came to web 2.0 marketing and this eventually led me to generating $55,000 in 60 days.

So what Did I learn that helped me to do such a thing and how can you implement this strategy today and start building your fortune tomorrow?

I learned the importance of giving value.

He was on YouTube every day letting people into his life & studio, building a connection with his audience and showing exactly what it was like to make hits in the studio! He was on twitter promoting causes like Ashton Kutcher's donation to the Malaria Fund amongst many other things.

The point is Diddy had a real cause, he gave tremendous value, and he built a deeper connection with his audience.

People pay attention to that!

What is your solution to Web 2.0 Marketing success:

1.Give Value to your prospects: do not be afraid to give "too much" of your good stuff away. People appreciate this and will be attracted to you.

You want them to know that you are someone of value and naturally your group will hold you as a leader in your industry. You don't establish this kind of recognition and stature by merely telling them you can help them, you have to demonstrate it through your actions.

You may have to go through 50 - 60 videos before people start to care. However, if you market consistently and never give up. You will be Earning tons of income with Web 2.0 platforms in no time.

2.Be personally & unique. This is easier then you thought, simply just be yourself and you have accomplished this goal. Let your audience know who you really are, they will feel an instant connection with you, and connections equal trust which equals sales!

Let's face it, this information is only the beginning of the Web 2.0 Marketing Puzzle. If I began to write everything you need to do here, I would have enough to write a book. Your problem is not only the information that I have stated, but you need to learn how to brand yourself outside of your business, establish your presence as a leader etc.. Facebook has doubled it's websites size sinceLast year as well as seems to be pressing related social network web sites aside.Just like one particular large cultural experiment, Facebook is actually pushing limits, making up the guidelines as it conitinues along as well as setting up its calculations to guidelines unexpected in the past.Social networking sites are amazing, yet limited by nature They're not genuinely content material submission sites, just like a weblog or even content directory is actually. Or are they internet directories. When it really comes down to it, social media sites would be the correct definition of their label, "social networking sites".That is all likely to be different quickly. Facebook has recently announced that they will be making an online index, much like those of Yahoo. There is talks of developing a Facebook e-mail service just like Yahoo is doing using their Googlemail electronic mail program. One of the latest advancements which Facebook has produced will be the Facebook message service that allows people to talk with each other about mobile phones, regardless of whether or not they're making use of on-line talk services as well as e-mail services.Exactly why had Facebook turn out to be so popular? Facebook blocks exporter new tools for Google+ - Technology - Information Technology

Aware of Facebook's strict terms of use, we speculated that the Google+Facebook service would eventually be shut down.

Apparently, Facebook has already been actively blocking third party exporter tools designed to export contacts into other sites like Google+.

Although the Google+Facebook app has not yet been shut down by Facebook admininstrators, the social networking site has been busy shutting down tools that allow Facebook users to export their friend into other sites. The effort has been amped up since the inception of Google+.

For example, Open-Xchange, a service that allows Facebook users to export friend details into other products and services (think of it like one huge social address book), was blocked by the social network despite its claim that it followed Facebook's Terms and Conditions to a T.

Were writing to inform you that your app Connector for ox.io has been disabled for the following violations:

You cannot use a users friend list outside of your application, even if a user consents to such use, but you can use connections between users who have both connected to your application.

Our expectation is that developers do not provide users with poor experiences, such as those resulting from inappropriate or misleading content, privacy and security vulnerabilities, and general spam in the Stream, Requests, and elsewhere. We appreciate your commitment to improving the application ecosystem on Platform.

The folks at Open-Xchange are not only upset because Facebook banned what they believe is a legitimate product, but also because they believe it's about controlling personal information.

"If you want to see what a future looks like where a single company controls YOUR personal data for its own profit, this is a glimpse," Rafael Laguna, Open-Xchange CEO, said in a statement.

"Clearly, Facebook management does not want you to have the ability to take your personal information outside their walls to, say, Google+ and will do everything in their power to stop you, including violating their own terms and conditions," the CEO added.

The Open-XChange tool goes through the first 6,000 emails in an inbox for contacts and allows the user to merge the address book into Apple iCal, Gmail, Google+, Facebook, Outlook and others.

Open-Xchange claims that it's not scraping email addresses and that the same information is available on Facebook itself by going to Account->Account Settings->Download Your Information in the resulting friends.html file. The tool is built on Facebook's open API.

The CEO emphastically stated, "This is not about user experience. It is about Facebook NOT wanting anyone to control their personal information - except Facebook."

Facebook also blocked a Google Chrome extension called Facebook Friend Finder that allowed users to export Facebook contacts by email address, a tool which became exceedingly popular with the launch of Google+.

Considering both Open Open-Xchange and Facebook Friend Finder have been blocked since the inception of Google+, it seems like only a matter of time until Google+Facebook is also shut down (or blocked)in an attempt to keep the two social networks separate or perhaps to thwart Google+'s success - even if it means disregarding its own terms of service.

Banned by Facebook! One Woman's Story. - Internet

While the social media marketing site Facebook may be something you are intimately familiar with and use on a daily basis, the name "Marci Rosenblum" may not exactly ring a bell. So who is Marci Rosenblum and why should you know about her? As it turns out, Marci was banned from Facebook - a situation that we may all face at some point or another - and what she learned during her experience may have significant implications on your Facebook habits, as well as your overall online marketing experience.

We Depend on Facebook, Until...

Facebook is of course almost as ubiquitous on the Internet today as Google is. It is certainly more popular than the other large social networking site (which we won't mention by name since the MySpace team may still be feeling a slight sting at having been overtaken just last January). Facebook marketing has simply captured the imagination of the collective cyberspace public in ways that few Internet phenomena have before and probably will for a while. It is a great way to build your business online and can therefore be potentially invaluable to your web success.

Most people start out by using Facebook as a means to keep in touch with friends and family. Facebook makes it easy to post pictures, chat with acquaintances, send them personal messages, join in on group discussions and quizzes...the list is virtually endless, and if there is some way that you can reach out to someone and be reached back in return, there is probably a way to do that in Facebook.

Many enterprising individuals have since used Facebook as a means to touch base with their customers. There is no Facebook rule that disallows this, and Facebook has proven to be quite a potent tool for any business. The same benefits that Facebook affords you for personal use can be wielded to great results for your business, online or otherwise.

So far so good. But just like any other privately owned web site, there are a number of rules and regulations implemented that may not always be clear to you, and in fact may seem downright unfair. This is where Marci comes in.

Marci's Story

Marci Rosenblum is one of the many people on Facebook who has a hugely popular Facebook profile. Plenty of good content, a steady stream of regular visitors...it appeared that Marci was way ahead of the Facebook pack. Unfortunately, Marci was banned only a couple of weeks ago, for reasons that weren't quite clear to her. To the extent of Marci's knowledge, she was in full compliance of all of Facebook's terms regarding use. This included the clause that stated that users have the privilege of "unlimited posting."

As someone who has relied on Facebook for many years and has spent a considerable amount of money on ad expenditures, this banning was quite distressing for Marci Rosenblum. Her visitor count - which had ballooned to over 5,000 before the banning - now stands at only a bit over 500 a few days after her site was reinstated. The impact of all those lost contacts is quite significant as you may well imagine.

Lost in (Cyber)Space

For someone with that many contacts, Marci losing her Facebook account was akin to losing her cell phone, PDA, or personal directory of contact numbers. Put yourself in her position, and you can possibly understand the feeling of frustration at virtually being cut off from crucial contacts. Since so many people rely on Facebook for their web presence, losing an account is almost like losing your online identity!

Apparently, the cause of all Marci's Facebook problems was her placement of links on her "fan" page as well as her "profile" page. Through some unwritten rule in the Facebook terms of agreement, this was apparently enough to warrant a ban. No matter what you may think of Facebook's policies, the loss of all those contacts for such a seemingly minor infraction appears to be excessive. Even more alarmingly, a look at Facebook's terms of use shows that they can ban an account for any reason whatsoever, which apparently covers Marci's case.

Things could have been easily avoided if Facebook maintains an air of approachability and openness with regard to their policies. Barring that, there certainly is no reason why they would have to be so hard to get a hold of, as Marci later found out for herself.

Like all people who have an issue with a company, Marci wrote a letter to the Facebook management asking why her account was banned and how she could be reinstated. If only it were that easy. Marci in fact had to write no less than five letters before she got a response, and even then it wasn't exactly the answer that she was hoping for. Her account was supposedly banned for "spamming", a practice that Marci felt she wasn't guilty of. In fact, there are currently numerous other Facebook accounts that are clearly guilty of spamming, yet strangely remain allowed to carry on with their activities.

How to Avoid the Facebook Ban-Hammer

Based on Marci's Facebook experience, we have pinpointed a few things to keep in mind that will help you avoid the fate that befell her.

* You could post as many links as you want on your "fan" pages, but posting links on your on your "profile" page is a definite no-no.

* Posting the same links on your "profile" page that you have on your "fan" page can get you banned.

* The Facebook site administrators can be extremely difficult to get a hold of. You will have to send them a lot of emails on five different email addresses, before you can expect to get a response, so persistence is key.

* Keep a backup of all your Facebook contacts. As Marci found out so harshly, even getting your Facebook account reinstated will not get your contacts back. If your contacts are essential to your business - as they probably are! - back them up!

* In spite of the apparent vagueness of the Facebook terms of use, you simply have to try and makes sure that you conform to all terms regarding use. They can be very hard to reach as Marci has seen, so any thing you can do to avoid a banning would be for the best.

Making the Best of Facebook

All this isn't meant to downplay all of Facebook's benefits...and they are considerable. Nevertheless, a clear picture of what you can expect regarding your use would go a long way in helping you get the most out of your Facebook account. Make sure that you post links only on your "fan" pages, and you can continue to use Facebook for its many networking benefits.

Using Social Media Effectively Part 1: What Facebook can do if used properly - Marketing - Social Marketing

Social Media is everywhere today. It has quickly become a household term, thanks to organizations such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. In fact, it has grown so much and so quickly that we still don't exactly understand the power of Social Mediums. Are they communications tools? Communities? News sources? Or an advertising platform?

It's our opinion at Canopy Media that Social Media is in fact all of these things and more. The way we use Social Media is determined by our expected outcome. For example, an individual who wants to connect with friends can easily search and add contacts to their social group. A business, on the other hand, wants to connect to an audience that may convert to sales or page views on their website.

Businesses can't use all of these platforms as an advertising venue. It has been proven that direct advertising in some types of SM is not effective. An aggressive ad campaign conducted through Social Media can actually hurt your business in the long run if not done properly.

Today we'll cover the first of the three major Social Media players and how their products work. Keep watching here for the follow up articles, part 2 on Linkedin and part 3 concerning Twitter.

Facebook

Let's begin with the the guys that started this whole mess.

Facebook is widely recognized as the major catalyst of the Social Media movement. It began in 2004 as a connection tool for students in universities and quickly expanded to allow access to anyone who wanted to join. Facebook allows users to gather and create social connections, sharing likes and dislikes, common interests with their ever expanding social networks.

What is Facebook?

The power or application of Facebook comes from it's audience. With over 600 million members worldwide Facebook is drawing close to having the ear of ten percent of the planet. This network for electronic word-of-mouth is made even more powerful by it's user driven interface. Users determine their own content, contacts and information.

Facebook's Function

Facebook use is slightly different for businesses. Aggressive advertising or excessive news feed messages are viewed as negative by most users. The best route is to create public pages that users can 'like', merely making info available rather than forcing it on people. Better to have your audience come to you, than to perpetually pester them.

There is a much better venue for direct adverts; Linkedin.

Social media management has never been more important which is why we at Canopy Media have added Twitter and Facebook management to our list of Active Lead Generation (ALG) services.

Keep watching our blog feed for more info on social media. We touched on Facebook today and in the near future we'll cover Twitter and Linkedin, showcasing how small businesses can and should use each social media suite for a specific purpose and to target specific audiences.

Setup Help For Social Media Management Tools & Systems - Business

A short-term social media campaign targeting all networks isn't so uncommon, but social media management on an on-going basis is an entirely different matter. There are many benefits, but adoption has been slow. Let's clear up some of the misconceptions and list the tools and their benefits.

LinkedIn is a business network connecting professionals. Facebook is an online hangout for young kids. Twitter also operates in an informal setting, but it's mostly about information sharing across all demographics.

On the other hand, it's also true that celebs and big brands have no such problems. The exact same message is very well received on each network, if it comes from someone or a company that is well known or trusted. The point is that on a social network, it is the messenger that counts more than the conversational style or actual content of the message.

But it's possible to have the best of both worlds - as in send one message which then gets published on all the major networks. This is done through what is known as Social Media Management Systems (SMMS). An SMMS has a central dashboard to monitor all accounts across all networks, sends out a message to all the accounts, and will track the response and offer conversion metrics.

One such SMMS is Spredfast, an SMB and enterprise tool for managing social media outreach. It automates the entire process, and has a single dashboard to observe accounts not only for social networks but also blog platforms. It tracks clicks and integrates data from all the networks to offer overall conversion metrics.

Buddy Media is another enterprise level facebook management system. Their geo-targeted system allows marketers to maintain a single presence across multiple country and language pages on facebook. Hootsuite is also a useful tool that offers a dashboard for corporate teams posting simultaneously to multiple accounts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Foursquare.

On a slightly smaller scale, TweetDeck offers one centralized login and monitoring capabilities for multiple networks including Google Buzz, Foursquare, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. For those who need a team to operate a single account, CoTweet can direct tweets that need a response to specific team members.

In summary, social media management tools and systems will definitely make life a lot easier for the manager, and possibly allow for a smaller team. It will also aggregate data, spotlight trends, and offer conversion metrics. Most importantly, it will also help grow the brand across all networks, instead of just on twitter or facebook.
