Become a well-known speaker in your community.

If you have a fear of speaking join a Toastmasters International chapter in your area now, or take the Dale Carnegie's Effective Speaking training program. I have done both and they can give you the confidence and knowledge you need to be a good, effective speaker. You have an important message to share on your expert topic. You must be able to present yourself well and build your name. You can begin speaking now to get the practice so that by the time your book is published you are ready to go on the speaking circuit.

Build Your Mailing List.

Start doing Google searches for organizations and groups you can speak to: Women's groups, business organizations, Rotary Clubs, personal development groups, plus groups that specialize in your book topic.

Build Your Testimonial List.

Write down the contact information of people you want to give you a testimonial for your book. Get 20 names or more. Once a preliminary copy of your book is available you can write to your list and ask if they would like to write a testimonial for your book. It is best to ask people who have titles that would be of interest to your potential readers. You can put the testimonials in your book and on your website.

Be the Expert.

If you solve problems for your clients, then you are an expert. Now continue to build on that by reading, learning, participating in seminars that can expand your knowledge in your field of expertise.

Promote Yourself.

This is no time to be shy. Start writing articles in your area of expertise and get them out there in the Internet article-writing world. Begin reading promotional materials you receive and save the ones that catch your attention. Begin practicing writing your own promotional materials for your pamphlets and brochures.

Create a website to sell your book.

Get help--find a student from your local college to help you. Sign up for a Paypal credit card account to begin your book-selling program. Your website will promote your book, speaking engagements, and anything else to get that recognition you deserve. There is a lot involved in setting up your website so if you are not knowledgeable in this area get help.

Write a Book Proposal.

This is the best marketing tool you can have. Get a book on how to write a book proposal. There are many books available on this subject. A book proposal can help you with your planning. You will include your marketing and promotional strategies in it. Even if you are planning to self-publish your book I recommend that you still prepare a book proposal.

Create a Blog.

If your book is a long way from being published, start a Blog. You can keep a journal or business tips on it and soon readers will be coming to your Blog. This is a way for people to get to know you and for you to get that expert recognition before your book is written.

Learn Amazon.

Review the guidelines for getting your book listed on Amazon.com. Be ready so that when your book is published you can list it on Amazon. Find out the requirements, costs, etc.

"Book Marketing" Internet Search.

Do a Google search for "book marketing." You will discover some of the newest services. Google has a book marketing service now. Also Facebook is a good way to build a list of people who might be interested in your book. You can talk about the book before it comes out and build your list. Once your book is published and available you can announce it to your Facebook friends. There is MySpace and many other ways to promote your book online.

These are just a few ideas to help you develop your marketing plan. Don't wait until your book is finished. Begin working on as many of the above as you can now. Focus on one marketing idea at a time. Avoid getting overwhelmed. "Inch by inch it's a cinch." I imagine that you thought that once your book was written the rest would be easy. Hah! You've only just begun. Stay focused, set up a plan, take action, and you could have a bestseller.

Cheating And Inappropriate Behavior On Facebook: Why Women Worry About It

The other day, I actually had a man comment on myblog and ask me why women are becoming increasingly concerned and worried about their man's Facebook account and activities. He commented, in part: "my wife is always trying to look over my shoulder when I'm on facebook. I think she might even try to log onto my account and read my messages. It annoys me. I'm not doing anything wrong and she should know that she can trust me. Why does she do this when I've given her no reason to spy on me like this?" I'll address these questions in the following article.

Plenty Of Men Use Facebook As An Innocent Way To Keep In Touch With Others, But Some Men End Up Using It Inappropriately Or Cheating As The Result Of It: I can't speak as to why this particular man's wife was suspicious of his Facebook activities. But I can speak for myself and I can tell you what women often express to me. Many of us are on these sites also and we know that married men will often try to friend us, send us messages or photos, or make comments on our wall.

Many of us also know other woman who caught their boyfriends or husbands acting inappropriately or even cheating on these types of sites. And sometimes, the man doesn't even initiate this. It's so easy for old girlfriends (or women who hope to be new ones) to look at his photos, contact him, send him suggestive photos or messages, or make comments about him. Sometimes, it's not only that we don't trust the men that we love, it's that we sometimes don't trust other women.

And we read the articles of how social networking sites like Facebook are starting to be sited in divorce proceedings all over the country. In short, your wife or girlfriend likely doesn't want to be one of those women and she doesn't want for your relationship to one of those that are affected by this. She wants to keep your relationship from becoming a statistic and she wants to avoid any inappropriate behaviors or infidelities.

She might just be checking in to keep tabs and to stop any problems before they start or to put a stop to anything that she is uncomfortable with. So, what if you're a man whose girlfriend or wife is obsessed with your Facebook account? You can offer her reassurances. You can make good on your promises that you have nothing to hide and over time, she will likely come to realize that you're telling her the truth.

And if you're a woman who suspects your man is cheating or acting inappropriately on Facebook? Well, there are certainly ways to check up on him without him knowing, but it's usually preferable to keep things fulfilling in your relationship before you have to worry about this. Tricks of the Internet Guru

If you want to do anything online in a particular niche, you should strive to be an internet guru. Why am I saying this? Do you have to be a leading internet guru to be successful in your niche? No, but there comes a point where people are going to need to know what you do and that you do it well, otherwise the market leaders will take over your business.

Let's examine this. It's more of an unwritten law. People buy products from people that they know and trust. online people have choices. If you have the same product, same service, same everything, who you do think people will buy from, A the person that they know or B the person they don't know? People will buy something from someone that they know. It's been that way for years.

It takes a lot for a person to get in front of the limelight. Now let's say we have the guts to go ahead and do it. We are putting out regular content everyday. This is something that you just have to learn upfront. Nobody is ever liked 100% of the time. This statement is just something you have to learn upfront and before you start. Because as soon as you stick your neck out, you'll have people writing things about you in a good or bad light, so don't take it personal.

I remember the first time someone had the nerve to post something bad about me. I couldn't work for the rest of the day. I was so mad and I couldn't get this off of my mind. But here lies the key. You can't let stuff like this bother you or you'll never make it.

People have the nerve to do a lot of things to other people, but once you get it through your head that nobody is 100% liked, this will help you in the long run. Stop and think about this for a minute. What would happen if that could happen? This world would be boring and that person would have a lot of power.

Criticism as it stands helps out society in a way. Mother Theresa had critics; Gandhi had a lot of critics. Name just about anyone popular, they all have critics. It just comes with the territory. Once I finally came to grips with this, it helped me out a lot.

Think about this for a moment. It can be good that someone just doesn't like you for some reason. People with either agree with you on something or they will disagree with you on a matter. You have to take a side and so do your clients.
